A Definition of a squash bubble and how to form is as follows:

  • A maximum of six players that form a bubble allowing them to play squash in adherence to the government and England Squash tier system

  • You have to agree whom is in your bubble with up to FIVE other players (you cannot exceed 6 people in a bubble)

  • Each member of the squash bubble has to inform the clubs COVID officer (Neal & Stuart) via e-mail that you wish to form part of the bubble (and including ALL of the other proposed members of the bubble)

  • Each member of the squash bubble has to inform the clubs COVID officer (Neal & Stuart) via e-mail that you have read and agree to follow the England Squash “bubble” guidance on their COVID update page (again - cc'ing ALL other members of the proposed bubble)

  • Note that you can only belong to one bubble at one club at any one time

I hope you and your families are well in these strange times!

As you are no doubt aware (how could you possibly miss it) - as a result of the recent government announcement, we will be closing the club.

From this Wednesday 4th November @ 11pm the squash club will close its doors until at least Wednesday 2nd December.

At this time - we obviously do not know what the plan will be for re-opening nor do we know of changes that England Squash may put in place as a result of the changing landscape. Hopefully they wont change the tier system - and we can, at the very least return to play back in our squash bubbles.

As further news emerges - myself and Neal will continue to update the website, blog and WhatsApp forum.

If you wish to track the guidance issued from England Squash please click HERE

Hopefully we will see each other down the squash club shortly after Dec 2nd! Keep well!

Cheers

Stu.

As a result of the COVID tier system now put in place, and that Sutton has now fallen into the HIGH category we have had to change the rules of the club (guidance from England Squash).

With immediate effect, members must abide by the following rules:

1. Squash bubbles are on-hold until further notice.

2. Members are NOT permitted to play sides or perform socially-distanced drills with members from outside their household

3. Only solo practice is allowed

4. Members from the same household can continue to play full-court squash

5. Junior and 1:1 coaching can continue as normal with social distance rules being observed

Members must continue to adhere to the Return to Play advice and instructions issued by England Squash (bags on court, cleaning touch points, not touching the side walls, etc.)

For more information, please see the following link from England Squash:https://www.englandsquash.com/back-to-squash/guidance
